What to expect in your first 90 days on BHRT

Labwork

Depending on symptoms and medical history, your provider may recommend starting BHRT without lab work. Baseline lab work is not required or necessary to see success with hormone replacement therapy, and can even be misleading. Symptoms are the best indicator of estrogen, progesterone and testosterone deficiencies. Watch this video with Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Nayan Patel for more information on lab work. Guidelines from The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) recommend treating patient symptoms rather than hormone levels in the blood.

While baseline panels are not required, a full panel serum blood test will be required six weeks after starting your hormone balancing program. If necessary, we will also perform additional tests after three months to monitor progress. All patients will require annual lab work.

Lab work options:

  1. Your health insurance provider may cover lab panels with Thrively.
  2. If you don't have health insurance, Thrivelab only charges $230 for lab panels.
  3. Pay the lab directly out of pocket (average cost is $2600)

* If you request to use insurance as your payment preference. Please note that the cost for labs is based on your coverage.

*Make sure not to apply any treatments within 24 hours leading up to your scheduled lab draw
